Citizenshift Presents: Five Short Films
The National Film Board of Canada invites Christopher Redmond to speak to university students taking the 2008 Doc Shop program about his experiences in Burundi. BFC photographer Bridget Farr and BFC teaching assistant Sabrina Guerrieri are also on hand to take questions from the audience. Redmond and Guerrieri are 2006 Doc Shop alumni.
ARTSPARK - National Gallery of Canada
The National Gallery of Canada exhibits the Burundi Film Center films and selects photographs during their Snap Judgments: New Positions in Contemporary African Photography exhibit.
BFC Benefit Screening - Canadian Film Institute
The Burundi Film Center holds a benefit screening with the Canadian Film Institute for an exclusive North American premiere. Traditional Burundian drummers and dancers opened the event while the Burundian Embassy provided food for one more taste of Burundian culture. A silent auction featured a collection of Bridget Farr’s photos from Burundi to raise money for the Burundi Film Center. Co-Founder Raymond Kalisa flew in from Africa to attend the screening with co-founding partner Christopher Redmond and BFC trainers Sabrina Guerrieri and Bridget Farr.
