The Burundi International Film Festival
On July 21, 2007, Bujumbura hosted the inaugural Burundi International Film Festival (BIFF). The first five BFC films premiered to a home audience as 36 students received their certificates for completing Level One: Introduction to Film Theory and Production training. In partnership with the Toronto International Film Festival Group, the films played along side some of the best Canadian student short films of 2006. Burundian/Canadian filmmaker Léonce Ngabo was the Guest of Honour and the Minister of Youth and Sport was present to sign the students’ certificates.

BFC Traveling Film Festival
The BFC traveling film festival brings the films directly to their primary audience – the people of Burundi. With the participation of local governments and corporate partners, we hope to expand beyond the suburbs of Bujumbura and expose the films to populations across the country.
